answers to some common questions about our boat, trips and general information.

  • What type of fish do you catch on the Cock Robin?
    • We catch all different species of fish.  The catch changes through the year, but our most abundant catch is the Atlantic Bluefish.  Later in the summer and early fall, we see Mahi Mahi, Stripers, Bonito and Albacore.
  • Do I need reservations?
    • No. Space on the boat is offered on a first come-first served basis.
  • How much is the trip?
    • The price for adults is only $53.00, seniors are $48.00.  Kids under 12, $39.00.  We also rent fully rigged, professional grade rod and reel combos for only $5.00. Group and Military Discounts are also available!
  • How do I get to the boat?
    • We're located in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ and are easily accessible from the Garden State Parkway.  We have a very helpful map available to help you on your way. click here!
  • What time does the boat leave and do you sail at night?
    • The boat leaves the dock at 7:30am every day and returns at 2:00pm.  We sail in the evenings on Friday and Saturday nights only at 7:30pm and return around 2:00am.  The full seasonal schedule is available here
  • How far out does the Cock Robin go?
    • The Cock Robin typically will travel anywhere from a couple of miles inshore to over fourteen miles out, depending upon running schools, tide conditions, weather and other factors. Of course, on the Cock Robin, your safety is our first priority. That's why we're always fully Coast Guard inspected and up to date on the latest, state-of-the-art navigational and safety equipment. As well, our captain has over twenty years of experience in the waters where we travel.
